We Need Your Help!

Happy New Year's Eve —

As I reflect on last year, I have concluded a couple of things. In 2025 we spent less than 10% of our time at our agency seeking and writing new business. Thank you to those of you who referred a friend, family member, or co-worker to get a quote.

As many insurance carriers have noted, huge claim cost increases have generated huge increases in premiums. Many of you here have experienced this.

Two things can adaptively counter these challenges besides raising premiums:

1. Creating a better-priced AUTO product that is more competitive and attractive.

AND

2A — Write more NEW business as an agency: spending more time prospecting for new customers, less time available to help existing customers.

OR

2B — Receive more referrals from existing customers. No time needed for prospecting new business — simply quote friends, families, and co-workers of our happy customers, and those who want premium increases to possibly stop or slow down.

Last year we received 3–5 referrals a month — again, thank you. We have almost 2,000 customers. If everyone sent us one, we would never need to prospect again. We only want more customers like you, and you know who would be best served by our agency — those most like you.

A New AUTO Policy Launches January 21, 2025

One major improvement is that the policy is a Household Family Policy, not the traditional policy that requires the Named Insured and the Registered Owner/Borrower of the vehicle(s) to be the same person(s).

We will allow all residents of the same household — even unrelated roommates — to be on the same policy, with car ownership being among several different owners.

Why is this important? If you have your own kids who may own a vehicle as the registered owner but are currently on your policy even though you do not own the vehicle, this will solve a problem you perhaps did not know you had. We almost never ask "do you own the car?" or "is the car registered to you?" This is meant to keep vehicles from being added where the Named Insured has no insurable interest in the vehicle — the only connection being that the owner lives in their household.

The new policy solves this problem.

It also allows us to add a son or daughter who previously would have needed a more expensive one-name, one-vehicle policy. Now the multiple-car and multiple-driver discounts would all apply as long as the drivers are all members of your household.

Tell your friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family that we are embracing the future of insurance and making the costs much more reasonable by embarking on a bold answer to help families in Washington.

No Child Goes Hungry!

Additionally — any new AUTO and HOME bundled quotes will result in $25 being given to the WildBird Charity in Whatcom County. Each week, almost 1,000 kids in 30 schools receive a bag of weekend meals delivered to them at school, because one part-time employee and 15–20 volunteers donate one to two hours every week to make sure those kids have something to eat. No kid should go hungry!

Send me 10 referrals and I will donate $250 when they get their bundled quote — 4 for $100, or 1 for $25. All and any are appreciated. This is for the first couple months of the year.

We donated over $600 to WildBirdCharity.org and some $400 to the American Legion, Post 86, for the referrals received in 2024. Thanks again for those. The more you refer, the more we give — and we spend most of our time simply helping our customers.
